Biology, Full Professor, Laurentian University
I am a physiological plant ecologist investigating plant adaptation to stress. I conducted my Ph.D. at ETH Zurich, Switzerland, and did postdoctoral research at the University of Utrecht, the Netherlands. My research has dealt with mechanisms underlying variation in species richness of plant communities, and management practices to maintain species diversity. I work at the Laurentian University since 2002, focusing on constraints and tradeoffs in the ability of plants to deal with environmental stresses and disturbances in Northern Ontario wetlands, and in the area around Sudbury affected by the industrial pollution in the past.
