Your Career Starts Here

There are an almost infinite number of careers related to working within the Mining Cycle. Many of these jobs will take you to far off places in Canada and the world, requiring that you learn a second or third language and perhaps work with people of vastly different cultures and customs. We hope you have prepared yourself for that challenge. We hope you have broadened your educational experience, by stepping outside of your main discipline, by making yourself more marketable. Maybe you have taken a second language, completed a minor or certificate course in Occupational Health and Safety or Aboriginal relations, maybe you are ready.   You might want to come back once you have some work experience and chose to enroll in our executive Mining MBA program or executive Masters in Mineral Exploration. Learning should be a life-long experience, and you are always welcome to continue that experience with us at the Goodman School of Mines. The Job Source page should help in your search for a career or a summer job.

Job Source / Career Links

Job postings, mainly for fulltime or contract employment after graduation, are distributed across a variety of websites. In many cases the websites are related to professional associations such as the Association of Professional Geoscientists of Ontario (APGO) or the Canadian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (CIMM). Other websites are affiliated with industry publications such as the Northern Miner. Some of these are listed below together with the URL for the Federal Government job bank. Not listed are the URLs for head hunting agencies or for mineral exploration or mining companies, which are an excellent source of jobs opportunities.
