Summary:
Planning, preparation and practice are essential themes for individuals who travel or work in remote to semi-remote locations. Knowing how to navigate using map and compass, packing and carrying the right gear, to setting up an efficient backcountry campsite will be just a few of the topics covered in this course.

Students enrolled in the following Goodman School of Mines supported programs:
– Earth Sciences/Environmental Geosciences
– Engineering
– Environmental Science and Studies
– Biology (Restoration Ecology)
– CROSH members
– Indigenous Studies/Indigenous Relations
– Faculty of Management programs
Registration:
Cost: $45/Student
Includes: Certificate of Completion, Materials and Equipment Rentals, First Aid Textbook and Lunch.
(GSM is subsidizing this course to make it more affordable for students.)
