Robert Quartermain Student Lecture

 

Robert Quartermain DSc. is a quintessential Canadian Mining entrepreneur. Early in his career he was involved in drilling off the David Bell Gold Mine for Teck in 1982; was President of Silver Standard Resources until 2010 when he started Pretium Resources to explore and develop the Brucejack Gold Mine in northern BC.   Robert will speak about the high-grade Brucejack Gold Mine located in the famous Golden Triangle in Northern British Columbia.

 

All graduate and undergraduate students and faculty are welcome to attend.   Pizza and Q&A to follow.

Against the current backdrop of global trade challenges, getting products to growing markets, ‎and Canada’s GDP reliance on our resources, Robert presents a timely review of Canada’s contribution to the Global Resource sector, the role played by Earth Science professionals, and concludes with a review of the profitable Brucejack Gold Mine in northern British Columbia, and its contribution to the Canadian economy.
